The Wooden House Production Process in Our Company: from Design to Assembly

The production of EcoLaft wooden houses is a carefully developed and tested process, where every stage plays an essential role in the final product quality. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, we ensure outstanding quality, sustainability, and solutions tailored to the client’s needs. In this blog post, we invite you to explore the process.

1. Design and Technical Drawings

Before starting construction, we create 3D models and prepare precise drawings. Clients can choose:

  • A standard model from our catalogue (with the option to customize),
  • A custom project based on the client’s idea, sketch, or drawing.

We also assist with all the necessary documentation to make municipal approval easier – foundation sketches, 3D visualizations, and technical drawings in line with building permit requirements.

2. Contract and Preparation for Production

Once the drawings are approved, a contract is signed with the client that includes all the essential details about production and delivery.

3. Preparation of Quality Timber

The quality of a wooden house starts with its raw materials. We use pine trees from northeastern Latvia, approximately 100 years old. Only trees felled at the optimal season are used, ensuring density and durability.
The timber is dried in computer-controlled kilns for 20–28 days to reduce moisture content to 18–22%.

4. Production Process

  • The entire production takes place indoors under roof, ensuring consistent moisture control.
  • Only our company’s skilled and certified carpenters are involved in the process.
  • Our limited production volume allows us to strictly follow traditional building techniques.
  • The production of the house frame takes approximately 3–5 months.
  • Continuous quality control and communication with the client are maintained throughout the process.

5. Transportation

For every client in Latvia, the EU and Norway, a contract is signed regarding the transport and assembly of the house.

  • Delivery of the house frame to the building site may take 3–5 months.
  • The average assembly time is 6–7 weeks.
  • Transportation is carried out in cooperation with leading Baltic transport and logistics companies. Transportation costs are included in the price.
  • Transportation is always coordinated with the client’s schedule and availability.

6. Assembly on the Construction Site

To ensure safe and high-quality work, we carry out the assembly ourselves at the construction site. Our workers are trained and equipped with the necessary tools and machinery for a smooth workflow.

  • Assembly of the wooden house frame: 4–7 days.
  • Completed house (exterior only): 3–5 weeks (delivery, assembly, roofing, windows, exterior doors, terrace).
  • Fully completed house (exterior and interior): 6–8 weeks (in addition to the exterior work, we install interior doors, wooden flooring, stairs, skirting boards, sauna).

7. Handover and Guarantee

After construction is completed, the client receives detailed recommendations for proper use and maintenance. We provide a 2-year guarantee for the house structure.
Our goal is to ensure that your wooden house lasts for many years, preserving both its beauty and functionality.
Choose one of the wooden house models from our catalogue! All models can be customized to individual needs, and we can also develop a completely unique project created especially for you.
